Scary Pumpkin Halloween

I am so excited! You might think this is really stupid but...tomorrow we are going to the pumpkin patch! I want to take some pictures of my son in the pumpkin patch and pick out a pumpkin for Halloween.

Last year, I went to the pumpkin patch by myself to pick out some pumpkins for our front step. I don't know what it is about that place, I just really loved being there. Maybe I have some kind of "Linus" gene and am attracted to large, orange vegetables? (Is a pumpkin a vegetable or a fruit anyway?) Anyway, I am very excited to go.

On another pumpkin note, my mother-in-law bought a pumpkin costume for my son. It is fleece and it is THICK! Like arctic cold thick! There is no way he is wearing that all day at school. I'm just going to take some pictures of him in the outfit and say he wore it. I feel bad, but come on - he will sweat down to a pea in that thing! Tonight, I am going to go find something that isn't worn by trick-or-treating eskimos.

Damn home game! Ruin my weekend more, why don't you?

Another day...another day...another day...

Well, I haven't had much to write lately. There has been a lot of sickness going around in my house. I have managed to avoid it - so far.

I don't know what it is about my in-laws house, but every time we go over there someone winds up sick. Could it be that they NEVER open a window? Could it be that it is always 90 degrees inside? Could it be the carpeting, the furniture, the squatters? (that will wait until another day - if you don't already know) I don't know. That den is like a petri dish.

Well, some good news...the Yankees are in the World Series! I have been a Yankees fan ever since I was about six or seven years old. My first Yankee game was when I was twelve and I went to see them play the Red Sox (how fitting!). We had box seats right behind the area between the dugout and the on deck circle. And the game went into extra innings! It was great! My favorite Yankee game was much later when I went with my brother. We wanted to see the Indians play the Yankees but we couldn't get tickets, so we went to see the Yankees vs. the Brew Crew. At the time, both teams sucked. We got lost on the subway, made fun of lots of people and just had a great time in really bad seats!

My brother is now a Mets and Phillies fan. What can I say?

Tomorrow is gonna be sad...

As much as I am looking forward to tomorrow's festivities, it really is going to be sad. I have such a mixed feeling about my friend leaving. I want what is best for her and that means leaving. However, I hate having her move so far away.

Well, if and when she reads this...just wanted to let you know that I'll miss ya! This place is going to be way different without you. Golden Bowls for everyone!!!

Rick Wakeman

I just want to leave you with this...

"People were reaching to touch Rick, as if he were a god. They were not mauling him, just touching gently as of to be blessed or something. These people really love the man."
